From 18 November 2010 to 18 February 2011, we consultated on proposals for the Councils budget for 2011-2014. As part of this more information was requested around libraries and a separate consultation specific to libraries was set-up - 'Library Service Strategic Review Strategy 2014 Consultation'. Although this formal consultation has now finished, this conversation will remain open for opinions and views to be shared amongst residents.
The current Bexley Library Service costs around £5.5m a year. The Council's proposals aim to identify savings that will contribute to the more than £33m in savings the Council needs to find over the next few years. You can read more about this online at www.bexley.gov.uk/strategy2014
